Your Recruiting Process - Be in Charge
If you want to get recruited all on your own, there's a way. All you have to do is put in the right amount of work.
CREATE A PROFILE
What are the most important tasks if I want to get recruited on my own?
Some students are prepared to find their future school on their own, whereas others are better-off, getting support right from the start. Certain elements of the recruiting process are the same for all recruits across sports, regardless of athletic level:
- SET UP A PROFILE - Build a profile that allows you to get recruited. Add your highlight reel, athletic stats, academic test scores, and pictures. Write some words about yourself.
- TARGET RIGHT SCHOOLS - A crucial step. Ensure you understand your actual level and be realistic about what schools you could play in. A wrong self-assessment causes a poor outcome.
- GET SCHOLARSHIP OFFERS - It is a lengthy task. Speak to several coaches & make sure you build a good relationship with them. The goal is to get recruited by a school which fits you & your budget.
- ELIGIBLE TO PLAY - Be certified to play. NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA – rules differ, but one thing is the same across divisions: get it right academically & athletically - don't lose seasons of competition.
